BIICL Annual Trade Law/WTO Conferences

The prestigious BIICL Annual Trade Law/WTO Conference brings together leading academics and practitioners to explore emerging ideas and the most recent developments in the field of international trade law.

The first conference was held in the year 2000 under the leadership of Prof. John Jackson and Sir Francis Jacobs KCMG QC, former British Advocate General at the European Court of Justice. For many years, the conference was scheduled to coincide with the annual visit to London of Prof. John Jackson, who can be regarded as the founding father of international trade law.

This recurring Trade Law Conference has developed into one of the most recognised events in the field of international trade law for the way in which it brings together practitioners, government representatives, academics and others to share ideas on the most important issues in the field. Over the years it has benefited from partnerships with the Georgetown University, the Society of International Economic Law and the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
