National Rapporteur for the Netherlands

Professor Elbert DE JONG is professor of private law at the Utrecht Center for Accountability and Liability Law (Ucall) and the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law. He is also director of Ucall. He is an expert in contract law and liability law and his research considers the relationship between tort law, innovation, climate change, and the environment.
Professor de Jong will lead the research team for the Netherlands.

Daan VAN MAURIK is a PhD candidate at the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law and the Utrecht Center for Accountability and Liability Law. His research focuses on the impact and effects of climate litigation on corporations' behaviour and climate policy.
Daan will assist with research and production of the national report for the Netherlands.
