National Rapporteur for Brazil

Dr Danielle DE ANDRADE MOREIRA is Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), working with the Postgraduate Programme in Law and the Interdisciplinary Centre for the Environment (NIMA/PUC-Rio). She is founder and coordinator of Law, Environment and Justice in the Anthropocene (JUMA), which is affiliated to the Environmental Law Coordination of NIMA/PUC-Rio (NIMA-Jur). She is director of the Law for a Green Planet Institute (IDPV) and academic coordinator of the Association of Environmental Law Teachers of Brazil (APRODAB). She was Vice-President of the Deliberative Council of the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO) and legal advisor to FUNBIO, the State Foundation for Environmental Engineering (FEEMA, now INEA) and the State Forestry Institute Foundation (IEF/RJ, now INEA).

Carolina DE FIGEIREDO GARRIDO has a Masters in State Theory and Constitutional Law, specialising in Brazilian Environmental Law and a Bachelor in Law from PUC-Rio. She is a research coordinator at Law, Environment and Justice in the Anthropocene (JUMA/NIMA/PUC-Rio). She is also a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Observatory of Climate Change (OIMC/IESP/UERJ). Carolina is the Brazilian Rapporteur for the Sabin Center's Peer Review Network of Climate Litigation, of the University of Columbia.
