Law of the Sea
Since its founding, BIICL has been conducting applied world-leading research on core issues pertaining to the law of the sea and maritime dispute resolution, creating impact through its projects and publications.
BIICL's first project on joint development agreements between states commenced in 1985 under the direction of Lady Hazel Fox MG QC and remains to date one of the leading contributions in the field.
BIICL brings together law firms, governments, legislators, corporations, international organisations, academics and civil society and is well-recognised as a trusted, knowledgeable, reliable and practical research institution.
