Anna Riddell-Roberts

Biography

Anna Riddell-Roberts has been the Managing Editor of the International and Comparative Law Quarterly (ICLQ) since 2015, overseeing all aspects of publication in collaboration with the General Editor, the ICLQ's publisher Cambridge University Press, and the Editorial Board. Her responsibilities include managing submissions, peer review, article production, content strategy, and navigating the ICLQ through a new era in publishing with the developments in Open Access in recent years.

Anna is dedicated to supporting early career scholars and promoting diversity in academia and has offered educational workshops on journal publishing at BIICL for the past 8 years, as well as speaking at Universities and other organisations.

From 2012 to 2015 she was the BIICL Publications Editor, responsible for producing all the Institute's books, annual reports and other publications, including her role as the Assistant Editor of the ICLQ.

Anna's background is in academic research. Until leaving for a period of study at the European University Institute in Florence in 2009, Anna was a Research Fellow in Public International Law and European Law at BIICL, and Director of the Institute's Project on Evidence in International Courts and Tribunals. In 2009 she co-authored the study 'Evidence Before the International Court of Justice', published by BIICL, which was cited with approval in the International Court of Justice by Judges Al-Khasawneh and Simma in their Dissenting Opinion in the Case Concerning Pulp Mills on the River Uruguay (Argentina v Uruguay) (20 April 2010).

Anna has published articles in several refereed journals and edited collected volumes. She holds LLMs from the European University Institute and the University of Exeter (European Law), an MA from Brasenose College, Oxford, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln's Inn in 2005.
