Bingham Centre Research Assistant on the winning team at the Hague Academy
Anthony Wenton, Research Assistant at the Bingham Centre, has this week returned from the Peace Palace after a rewarding three weeks at The Hague Academy of International Law's first ever Winter Course.
Whilst at the Academy he also took part in an international law advocacy competition. The non-stop competition took place over a 10-hour period and involved responding, at short notice, to a series of international crises, encompassing a wide range of international law areas. The tasks included, drafting legal opinions on diverse areas of international law; representing states in negotiations; drafting a UN Security Council Resolution; and arguing a case before the UN Security Council (made up of members of the Academy Curatorium).
We are delighted to say that Anthony was part of the winning team
