HRDD Forum: Disengagement and Exit in Challenging Contexts: Human Rights Due Diligence Considerations 

Event Details

In conflict-affected or other challenging contexts, business may be required to end business relationships and leave a country or may consider doing so on human rights grounds. If business must disengage and exit or decide to, how should they do this responsibly? If instead business decide they can address human rights risks better by staying in a country and continuing engagement with business partners, how should they do this to meet their responsibility to respect human rights?

At this summer HRDD Forum, experts from different jurisdictions will discuss the issue of essential goods and services in the contexts of Russia, responsible exit from Myanmar, the use of force majeure provisions in procurements contracts, the implication of the ICJ's preliminary measures for companies involved in Israel, disengagement under the CSDDD, and other topics.
