Because of the limited information available about how companies are going about to conduct human rights due diligence BIICL and the global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright are working together to research this important area.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to the management of human rights in supply chains, discusses the components of human rights due diligence in supply chains and sets out observations of current practice and best practice recommendations.
Exploring Human Rights Due Diligence
The Exploring Human Rights Due Diligence project started in March 2015 and was focused on establishing the law and practice relating to human rights due diligence. This research is now complete and was launched in October 2016 Further details of the project are available on the Exploring Human Rights Due Diligence site and a peer-reviewed article on the findings was published in the Business and Human Rights Journal in 2017.
