Nandini Mitra

Biography

Nandini Mitra joined the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law at BIICL in March 2024. She is a Researcher working on the second phase of the Bingham Centre's Rule of Law Monitoring of Legislation project 2023-25. She also assists with the Bingham Centre's work as Secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Rule of Law.

Before joining the Bingham Centre, Nandini completed a fellowship at the human rights charity JUSTICE, where she undertook research and parliamentary advocacy in relation to the impact of artificial intelligence on the justice system; open justice as implemented across various jurisdictions; and various Bills, including the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill. Prior to the fellowship, she was a Caseworker in the Public Law & Human Rights department of Wilson Solicitors LLP and had worked at an MP's office. Nandini's research interests lie in the areas of immigration and asylum; national security; data protection and digital innovation; and business and human rights.

Nandini holds a BA History degree (first class honours) from the University of Cambridge. She has since converted to law
