Professor Mathilde Hautereau-Boutonnet

Biography

Mathilde Hautereau-Boutonnet is Private Law professor at Aix-Marseille University and researcher in Environmental Law. Her research focuses in the role of the private actors and instruments in the protection of the environment, the place of the judge in this challenge but also the originality of certain litigations, such as climate change litigations in a Comparative Law perspective. She has recently published a book concerning the role of the civil Code for the Environnement (Le Code civil, un Code pour l'environnement, Dalloz 2021) and another concerning the environmental litigation (Le procès environnemental, avec E. Truilhé, dir., Dalloz 2021). Currently, she leads the International Research Group JEL (Justice and Environmental Law) funded by the CNRS.
