Professor Jing Liu

Biography

Professor Jing Liu, joined BIICL as Visiting Research Fellow in January 2024.

Professor Liu, an accomplished scholar in personal bankruptcy legislation, holds a Ph.D. from RenMin University of China. With over two decades of teaching experience, she founded the BFSU Personal Bankruptcy Research Centre. Professor Liu conducted research at DePaul University, Columbia University, and the University of Aristotle, contributing to the global discourse on bankruptcy law.

Her expertise was recognised during her role as a specialist expert with the Supreme Court of China from 2019 to 2020. Professor Liu has made notable contributions to the field, including her work "Research on Personal Insolvency System in China." She has also facilitated cross-cultural understanding by translating significant works such as "The Corporate and Personal Insolvency Law" and "Personal Insolvency in the 21st Century" into Chinese. Professor Jing Liu is a respected figure in the academic and legal community, known for her measured contributions to the field of personal bankruptcy law.

Professor Liu has been an active figure in promoting the personal bankruptcy law legislation in China.
