Hyeyoung Cho

Biography

Hyeyoung Cho joined BIICL as Research Fellow in 2023. She has worked in the South Korean government and is currently a Deputy Director of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea. Her major working field in MFDS was establishing food safety policy including strengthening imported food safety on border, mitigation of regulation for SME business sector, and authoritative interpretation of Food Sanitation Law etc. Also, she had experience to in charge of revising the law in Korea such as Act on Labeling and Advertising of Foods and Hygiene products Control Act etc.

In BIICL, she is currently studies on "Research on ways to improve regulatory support and safety management system for fostering the food technology industry", particularly focusing on the 'cell based foods' and 'alternative protein' adapted by innovative food technology. She graduated from the University of Kyunghee and holds a master's degree of Nutrition.
