Professor Dimitrios N. Koufopoulos

Biography

Dr Dimitrios N. Koufopoulos joined BIICL as a Honorary Senior Fellow in 2025. Dr Koufopoulos (BSc, MBA, PhD, FCMI, FIC, CMBE, FRSA) is a Professor at the University of London, a Visiting Professor at the School of Law, CCLS at Queen Mary University, Honorary Research Fellow at Birkbeck University of London, and the Director of the Global Online MBA Programmes in University of London. He has held numerous academic positions in the UK at Brunel University (2002-2018) and Cardiff University (1991-2002). He is also an adjunct instructor at the Hellenic Open University, the Open University of Cyprus and Royal Holloway London, and he supervises Master level students at the University of Glasgow and Warwick University and DBA students at Portsmouth University.

Alongside his academic career, he set up in 1994 a boutique consulting firm Gnosis Management Consultants, providing intelligent reports and advisory services on business and management issues. In 2007, he set up the Hellenic Observatory of Corporate Governance, where research on Greece's five distinct, important economic domains is conducted on issues related to Corporate Governance, ESG and Sustainability. Since 2016, is a partner in Proteas a business model innovation consulting firm and in 2024 joined as Board Advisor the Pensionrc a specialist advisory and research firm on pension systems worldwide.
