Markus Gehring Joins BIICL as the New Arthur Watts Fellow

BIICL is delighted to announce that Dr Markus Gehring has been appointed as the Arthur Watts Senior Research Fellow in Public International Law.

Markus brings a breadth of expertise in public international law, including international economic law, international environmental law and sustainable development, as well as legal practice in international law firms in London, Hamburg, Ottawa and Brussels.

He has worked in a variety of jurisdictions and has most recently served as Deputy Director for Economic Law for International Law Research Programme at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Canada. Markus started his academic career at the University of Oxford, then at the University of Ottawa, and most recently as Lecturer and Deputy Director in the Centre for European Legal Studies at the University of Cambridge. He has two PhDs one from Yale Law School and one from the University of Hamburg.

He will commence at BIICL on 27 March 2017
