Appointment of Sam Wordsworth as Queen's Counsel

The appointment of Sam Wordsworth, Chair of the Institute's Public International Law Advisory Panel, as Queen's Counsel was announced this week.

The appointment was made by Her Majesty The Queen on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, Chris Grayling MP, following consideration by the independent Selection Panel (the Panel).

A total of 84 new appointments as Queen's Counsel (also known as Silk) were announced. All those appointed have demonstrated excellence in advocacy in the higher courts.

Sam Wordsworth is a barrister at Essex Court Chambers, London, he specialises in public international law and international arbitration. He has been instructed by many Governments in international cases and has appeared before various international tribunals including the International Court of Justice and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
