BIICL researcher joins International court of Justice

We are delighted that Abhijeet Shrivastava, a Researcher at BIICL, has been selected as 1 of 15 Judicial Fellows from the world to assist the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The fellowship is similar to a clerkship or judicial assistantship and allows candidates to work at the principal judicial organ of the United Nations.

Abhijeet acts as a Researcher in International Law and Dispute Settlement at BIICL, contributing to the Institute's cutting-edge projects concerning judicial practice in ambiguities surrounding dispute settlement.

Reflecting on this news, Abhijeet said:

'It is an understatement to say that this is a dream come true. With the Court handling its busiest ever docket of cases, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the peaceful settlement of disputes, and learn firsthand about the role of the Court. My work at BIICL allowed me to engage deeply with the jurisprudence of the Court, and my learnings will surely benefit me once I begin the fellowship. I am grateful to the guidance from BIICL, my team, and Dr Constantinos Yiallourides in particular, who supported my application'.

We congratulate Abhijeet on this achievement and wish him the best in his journey to the Peace Palace!
