ICLQ Early Career Prize Winner Announced
Alexander Wentker Awarded ICLQ 2024 Early Career Prize

The International and Comparative Law Quarterly (ICLQ) is delighted to announce that Dr Alexander Wentker has been awarded the 2024 Early Career Prize for his outstanding article 'The Armed Attack Exception to Neutrality in International Peace and Security Law' published in Vol 73(4) ICLQ. Dr Wentker is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Potsdam, Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and a Research Affiliate at Humboldt-University Berlin, having completed his PhD in 2022 at the University of Oxford.
The ICLQ Early Career Prize is awarded annually for the best article by an Early Career scholar, which is defined by the Journal as being either a PhD candidate or within 5 years of the award of their last academic degree or vocational legal qualification (7 years in the event of a career break) at the time of submission. The Prize is generously supported by Cambridge University Press who publish the ICLQ, with the winner receiving £250 worth of Cambridge University Press books of their choice.
The Prize will be awarded to Dr Wentker on the occasion of the ICLQ Annual Lecture on 13th May, when he will also have the opportunity to speak about his broader research in discussion with Professor Alex Mills, General Editor of the ICLQ.
