BIICL Announce Hong Kong Partnership
BIICL is delighted to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Under the MoU, BIICL and CUHK will cooperate in knowledge creation and exchange in various fields of law, such as international and comparative law. In addition, both parties will co-organise events and develop professional training and continuing professional development across the legal, governmental and non-governmental communities in Hong Kong and Asia.
The MoU was signed by Keith Ruddock, Chair, Board of Trustees of BIICL and Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK on 22nd July 2019 in Hong Kong at an event.
Keith Ruddock, Chair of BIICL's Board of Trustees said,
"The establishment of our first presence outside the UK is a very important development for BIICL and we are very much looking forward to a productive relationship with The Chinese University of Hong Kong".
An inaugural seminar - International Dispute Resolution: Reflections and Redirections was held following the MoU signing ceremony to celebrate the establishment of BIICL's first Asian based office. Speakers at the seminar included The Rt Hon The Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, former President of the UK Supreme Court, senior lawyers, international arbitrators and academics from Hong Kong, Australia and the United Kingdom.
