UN Forum on Business and Human Rights

During November 2015 the fourth annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights took place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. It was attended by 2300 participants from 130 countries, comprised of 36% from NGOs, 22% from business, 12% from government, and 15% academics. Other participants represented national human rights institutions, trade unions, multi-stakeholder initiatives, and professional associations.

As part of our Business and Human Rights Due Diligence Project, BIICL and Norton Rose Fulbright co-hosted a panel on human rights due diligence with various NGOs. The panel was entitled 'Human Rights Due Diligence in law and practice' and was chaired by Professor Robert McCorquodale, BIICL Director. Robert was also a panelist at a session of the Office of the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR) on its Accountability and Remedy Project. The session was recorded and can be viewed on UN TV here. Robert speaks on access to remedy and appears at 51.45-1.00.05.
