British Institute of International and Comparative Law's Fifth Annual WTO Conference

The Annual WTO Conference, organized by the British Institute in cooperation with the Institute of International Economic Law at Georgetown University Law Center, and chaired by Advocate General Francis Jacobs and Professor John Jackson, is firmly established as the most important annual event for international scholarship and policy discussion in the field of international trade.

The Fifth Annual WTO Conference, which was held on 17-18 May 2005 at Gray's Inn in London and sponsored by Sidley Austin Brown and Wood LLP, focused on specific jurisprudential and procedural features of the dispute settlement mechanism, the impact of recent agricultural disputes on the Doha Negotiations and the report of the Consultative Board on the 'Future of the WTO'. An extensive overview of this two-day conference by Isabelle Van Damme has just been published on the Journal of International Economic Law (3, 2005) 769-792 (by Oxford University Press). The Sixth WTO Conference is scheduled to take place on 23-24 May 2006.
