Do you want to take your existing competition expertise further in one day?
Would you like to develop your toolkit to analyse competition issues using an effects-based economic approach?
Do you need to understand the results of expert economic analysis and make the most of this evidence?
At Oxera, we provide training that produces results. This course-which is now in its tenth year-addresses topics at the cutting edge of competition policy in the EU and elsewhere. Each teaching session explains the underlying economic tools and principles, highlighting how they influence the legal framework and can be used in competition investigations. The case study gives delegates the opportunity to apply economic tools to a real-world competition case.
We cover the latest topics in competition analysis, reflecting the economic approach increasingly followed by the European Commission and other authorities. Starting with mergers, we demonstrate quantitative techniques for unilateral effects, then for Article 82 we cover the effects-based approach as formalised in the new Commission guidance. In the afternoon we move on to state aid and IP cases, applying the market economy investor principle in a state aid case study, and analysing anti-competitive effects in IP disputes.
