Law Enforcement Operations at Sea: Challenges and Responses
Event Details
What is this event about?
Maritime piracy is one of the oldest international crimes, yet it is often poorly enforced. This evening seminar will examine the legal issues arising from enforcement operations at sea, including the laws governing interdiction of vessels, the jurisdictional regime for prosecuting offenders and the implications for the maritime and insurance industries.
The British Institute of International and Comparative Law is hosting a seminar series bringing together government officials, academics and practitioners to examine contemporary law of the sea issues. This seminar is the second event of the series.
Solicitors and barristers may claim CPD hours through attendance at this event.
