Event Details
The growth and bedding down of collective actions in competition law has triggered a debate about whether the collective actions regime should be extended into other areas of litigation. The Civil Justice Commission has launched a consultation on the topic and pressure is building for clarity on how such a move might work. The Law Commission has also been asked by the government to assess whether the way consumer laws are enforced could be strengthened through the introduction of a consumer class actions regime.
The Product Liability and Competition Fora at BIICL are holding a Roundtable to combine the memberships, with their unique insights, with a high powered speaker panel. In combination they will explore what we can learn from existing experience, and what steps need to be taken, across law and finance to ensure any extension can prove a success.
