Introduction

The Asia-Pacific Europe Law Institutes Alliance (APELIA) was founded by 18 prestigious law schools and legal research institutions cross the Asia-Pacific and Europe in 2019. APELIA intends to 'provide a platform for legal research and education, academic cooperation, international exchange of researchers and students, and dissemination of knowledge'. It holds a conference for academic discussions as well as a meeting of representatives annually.

The Second Annual Asia-Pacific Europe Law Institutes Alliance (APELIA) Conference will be hosted by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL)  on July 12-13 2021.

The conference will be a hybrid event hosted online via zoom and  in person at BIICL in London.

The theme of the 2021 APELIA conference will be 

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Trade, and the Rule of Law

The Conference Committee invite you to submit papers under the above main theme. Selected papers will be published in a post-conference volume.

Conference Theme and Topics

The conference theme is 'Artificial Intelligence (AI), Trade, and the Rule of Law'. Topics of interest include:

-AI Regulation

-AI Ethics

-Trade, Data Mining, Machine Learning

Submissions on related topics will also be considered 

Submissions should be up to 10,000 words and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this conference.
