A conversation with Sir Nicholas Green: Reflections on the changing competition law environment

Date: 15 April 2021

Time: 16.00 - 17.00 UK time

Venue: Online

Sir Nicholas Green

Sir Nicholas is the first lawyer with extensive experience in the fields of competition and EU law to become Chair of the Law Commission. He is of course also a member of the Court of Appeal. This webinar will give participants a unique insight into the work of the Law Commission, and enable them to explore Sir Nicholas's views on the development of the UK legal system. He has himself said that the Law Commission needs to examine 'what society and the economy is going to look like in next ten years'.

In particular, we intend to explore how UK competition law is likely to develop in a stand-alone UK competition law regime; whether the principles of competition law are taken into account in the planning of future legislation; and whether parliamentary drafters should take greater account of competition law principles when writing legislation that has an impact on private sector business activity.
