This full-day online experience celebrating peace will be a global event, bringing together artists, thought leaders and international speakers. There will be a wide range of discussion panels and performances.
Peace One Day Live Global Digital Experience, on the UN International Day of Peace 2020, looks forward to a decade of action on Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. SDG 16 promotes just, peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.
Discussion Panel 1, 'A Decade of Action of Peace' will focus on the importance of SDG 16, a reminder of our position today and the urgent action required to reduce violence, war, crime, and mass atrocities and to protect finite resources.
Lord Neuberger, former president of the UK Supreme Court will be speaking in this panel on behalf of the Bingham Centre.
Other participants in the event include the Director-General of WHO, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, President of Microsoft Brad Smith, Global President of Food and Refreshment, Unilever Hanneke Faber and well-known performers, Jude Law, Annie Lennox and Emeli Sandé.
