About the event

The danger faced by cultural heritage in times of conflict has been once again highlighted by the recent attacks in both Mali and Syria. This event presented the current international legal frameworks protecting cultural heritage, including the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the United Kingdom Draft Cultural Property (Armed Conflicts) Bill. The efforts and challenges faced by the military and cultural heritage experts on the ground where also discussed at this seminar.
