Event Details

Organised by Human Rights Law Centre - International Humanitarian Law Unit

The roundtable will consider the international legal protection of education - following the structure and findings of the Handbook. Speakers will explore, in depth, the many facets of education related violations under international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law. In addition, the event will examine the challenges of bringing the three regimes together in one publication, designed to be a practical guide to legal practitioners seeking to ensure education in times of insecurity and armed conflict. The authors of the Handbook, Kristin Hausler, Nicole Urban, and Robert McCorquodale will speak about their work at BIICL on the Handbook in partnership with Education Above All, the Qatar-based policy, research, and advocacy organization who commissioned the Handbook.

Please note: Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
