Event Details

Sir Arthur Watts KCMG QC (14 November 1931 - 16 November 2007) was one of the leading international lawyers of his generation, whose career spanned senior government service, successful private practice, and a substantial scholarly output in international law. The Institute is proud to have been able to establish a fellowship in Sir Arthur's memory, and this is being made possible by the generosity of a number of benefactors, including leading international lawyers and governments.

The Inauguration will be marked by a lecture to be given by Vaughan Lowe QC, Emeritus Chichele Professor of Public International Law and Fellow of All Souls College, University of Oxford, and a practising Barrister at Essex Court Chambers. This special launch event will also provide an opportunity to meet Jill Barrett, the first Arthur Watts Senior Research Fellow and to hear more about her important work.

The evening will commence with refreshments from 5.00pm followed by the lecture at 5.30pm and a drinks reception thereafter. Please note: this event is by invitation only.
