PLF Seminar: Reviewing the Application of the PL Directive; the Commission’s Fourth Report

20th January 2011

The European Commission undertakes a regular review of the effectiveness of the PL Directive (every five years), and thereafter submits a report to the Council on the application of the Directive.

The Commission's fourth report is to be submitted in 2011. As part of this process, the Commission has circulated the attached Questionnaire to Members of their official Advisory Group on Liability for defective products, including the British Institute of International and Comparative Law.

The objective of this seminar is to discuss the European Commission's ongoing review of the effectiveness of the PL Directive, which will result in a report by the Commission to the Council on the application of the Directive in 2011.
