The UK Protocol to Lisbon: opting out of EU fundamental rights?

What is this event about?

This seminar is aimed at discussing the future of the UK Human Rights Act 1998 in light of the binding nature of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, and the UK Protocol to the Treaty of Lisbon concerning the application of the Charter. Speakers will evaluate the effect of the Charter in the UK, questioning whether it is intended as an opt-out or merely an interpretive guide, as well as analysing whether the Charter is justiciable in UK courts.

1.5 CPD points may be claimed by both solicitors and barristers through attendance at this event.
