Event Details

One of the world's most prominent dispute-resolution experts is to give a major public lecture at Strathclyde University Law School. Professor John Lande (Missouri University Law School) will deliver the prestigious Annual Robert Burgess Memorial Lecture when he will explain the impact of mediation in the USA and focus specifically on what Scotland can learn from this experience.
The growing importance of mediation in conflict-resolution has been highlighted by the recent Civil Courts Review and the Scottish Government's commitment to develop a centre of excellence in dispute resolution. Professor Lande's lecture also marks the launch Scotland's first Postgraduate Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, which reflects the growing role of alternative dispute resolution within the justice system.
