Event Details

The International Bar Association's Media Law Committee is now commissioning articles for its 2010 newsletter.

The newsletter, which will be published by October to coincide with the IBA Annual Conference in Vancouver, will provide a global overview of the most important cases of the year in the media law field, as well as developments in this area of law. Relevant subject areas include defamation, privacy, internet law, regulatory issues and freedom of expression.

Contributions ranging from simple news style 'reports' on the outcome of cases to more in-depth commentaries about particular judgments, outcomes or trends are all welcome. Articles should be approximately 1000 to 1,500 words in length and should be submitted in unformatted word documents, with regular headings and paragraph breaks, and the author's contact details should be included.

If you would like to contribute such an article, please submit a short summary of not more than 200 words, outlining the proposed content and structure, to athalie.matthews@carter-ruck.com as soon as possible. Alternatively, please telephone Athalie to discuss your idea on +44 (0) 207 353 5005.

Once we have reviewed your suggestion, we will then contact you to give you some feedback and more information. Finished pieces will need to be submitted by Friday 9 July 2010.
