What is this event about?
This seminar is the last in a series of lectures and seminars to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the adoption of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949. Adam Roberts will look at role of the Geneva Conventions in world politics: past, present and future. This includes the adaptations over time in how the Conventions are applied by states; the problem of applying the Conventions in wars that are not between states; the fate of the civilian in modern wars; and the roles of international bodies in developing and applying the law. He will also consider the case for new conventions in the face of new circumstances.

1.5 CPD hours may be claimed by both solicitors and barristers through attendance at this event.
