UK Business and Human Rights' Scholars Network is a multi-disciplinary initiative led by the Essex Business and Human Rights Project. It brings together scholars interested in all areas of business and human rights from any discipline. The goal of the Network is to create space and opportunities for scholars researching, teaching and working in this area to establish links, discuss ideas, and develop inter or multi-disciplinary research. The Network held its first workshop event July 2018 at the University of Essex.
On 25 March 2019, the Network will hold its second annual workshop co-sponsored by BIICL, University of Essex, and University of Greenwich. In the first closed-door part of the workshop, members from legal and business scholarship will present the latest cutting-edge research on topics ranging from the business and human rights treaty to using sense-making theory to explore human rights due diligence in organisations.
