Venue: British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Charles Clore House, 17 Russell Square, London WC1B 5JP

Excessive pricing is a difficult and controversial concept, because no clear, universally recognised methodology exists for determining when a price is excessive. Our panel of experts will examine how to determine when a price is excessive in general and in the pharmaceutical sector, which differs from many other sectors. We will also examine the challenges for competition authorities assessing exploitative practices in the pharmaceutical sector and the impact of their recent decisions.

Speakers

  • Svend Albaek - Deputy Chief Economist (European Commission)
  • Zeynep Ayata - Assistant Professor (KoƧ University Law School, Istanbul, Turkey)
  • Peter Davis - Senior Vice President (Cornerstone Research)
  • Ronit Kreisberger - Barrister (Monckton Chambers)
  • Robert O'Donoghue QC - Barrister (Brick Court Chambers)

This event is convened by Dr Liza Lovdahl Gormsen, Director, Competition Law Forum and Senior Research Fellow, BIICL

This is a Competition Law Forum event hosted under the Chatham House Rule.

Attendance is by invitation only.
