Legalisation Study: National Rapporteurs

Much primary information will have to be gathered for the production of national reports for the Study. In doing so, the study would seek to reconcile both the official position in each Member State (as dictated by its various treaty obligations) with the actual system in place and the challenges faced by EU citizens and relevant actors in this field (such as notaries public).

The type of information-gathering activity necessitated by the initial part of the Study would entail the creation of networks of as wide a range of expertise as possible. BIICL has established and managed many networks of this type for previous multi-country projects.

A network of 25 National Rapporteurs has been developed specifically for this Study. Its members are drawn from academics and practitioners of each Member State, who have been chosen on the basis of their specific expertise in this field and past contributions to Institute initiatives which have been judged to be of high quality. The Institute is grateful for their invaluable contribution.
