Individual Membership of the Institute

What is the Institute?

An independent legal research institute with charitable status, unaffiliated to any university, the Institute is the only body of its sort in the UK. The Institute creates a diverse community of scholars and practitioners and serves as an unrivalled focal point for its substantial membership base. Institute members include judges, practising lawyers, regulators, government officials, international civil servants, academics and students. Its focus is on Comparative Law, Competition Law, European Law, Human Rights Law, and Investment Treaty Law, Public International Law and Private International Law.

The Institute is registered with the Law Society, the Bar for CPD hours, which can be claimed from the majority of its events. Members can view a list of CPD points gained at Institute events online. They receive discounted rates at The Montague on The Gardens hotel , London WC1 and Goodenough Club, London WC1.

Individual Membership: £150pa

A £10 discount will be given if you pay for membership by Direct Debit (£120pa).

Perhaps the greatest benefit of membership is being part of a global network that includes eminent scholars and practitioners concerned with analysing both ongoing problems and current developments in the law.
