Internship: Bulletin of International Legal Developments (BILD)

Places are available from September 2008.

The BILD, BIICL's fortnightly law journal, covers latest developments in all areas of EC, comparative and international law. The BILD is offering an internship which would be particularly suited to current / recently completed LL.M students. Interning on BILD is a great opportunity to be involved in topical legal research, drafting articles and case reports on major court decisions and current legal issues worldwide. The work will include administrative tasks, but the internship is primarily focused on legal research / writing for publication. Fluency in English and proficiency in Microsoft Word are essential; a working knowledge of other languages (particularly Spanish, French and German) is preferred. Internships at BIICL are unpaid, but include free access to BIICL research events and library.


Requirements:

  1. Level of education: LL.M degree (or equivalent). Qualification to practice law is considered an additional asset.
  2. Preferred courses: European law; Public / Private International law; Human Rights.
  3. Availability: 2.5 days per week, for at least a 3-month period.
  4. Language skills: Fluency in English; working knowledge of at least one other language (particularly Spanish / German / French) preferred.
  5. Excellent drafting and research skills are essential.

The Institute has high academic standards and expects a serious level of commitment and professionalism from its interns.
