Event Details

What is this event about?
This event will reflect on the European Union's upcoming accession to the European Convention on Human Rights. It will explore accession from a variety of perspectives, including those from the EU and the Council of Europe, as well as national perspectives from a government and practitioner point of view. The event will also consider the potential difficulties which may arise for small jurisdictions as a result of the overlapping competences and decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights. The event will take place in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre of the prestigious Royal Society of Edinburgh on Friday 14 October followed by a drinks reception.

CPD hours may be claimed by Solicitors and Barristers in the UK and Wales and Advocates in Scotland through attendance at this event.
