Pakistan is experiencing an extremely tumultuous period which has resulted in an abrogation of basic human rights. The Panel will outline the events which have occurred in Pakistan since President Musharraff imposed the State of Emergency. They will examine the current legal issues as well as those which are likely to pose difficulties in the near future. The fight of Pakistan's lawyers and judiciary will be put in perspective and suggestions for assisting their cause will be made.
This event is organized jointly with the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the Commonwealth Magistrates' and Judges' Association.
