Armenian Public Sector Reform Programme

From 2003-2007 the Institute is involved in this major project in conjunction
with PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of the Department for International Development (DFID). Its overall aim is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accountability, transparency and responsiveness of all levels of public administration within Armenia as part of DFID's ultimate aim of poverty alleviation. The Institute is advising the Government of Armenia on a number of wide-ranging law reforms.

The project is part of a multilateral framework for the reduction of poverty in Armenia. It provides a significant element of the technical assistance within the framework of the World Bank Public Sector Modernization project and will be implemented in close cooperation with the EU-TACIS National Assembly project and the interventions of other bilateral donors.

Work continues in 2006 with a series of field and desk-based studies designed around the most recent developments in the Programme.
