Annual Events Held by the Institute

In addition to the events organised for the discussion of current legal developments and its research programme, the Institute holds a series of major conferences and lectures on an annual basis. Summary details of these may be found below, together with links to those events.

Annual Conference Each year the Institute holds its Annual Conference, intended very much as a showcase of its current research activities. The conference offers an excellent opportunity for the Members of the Institute to become more closely involved in its work.

Competition Law Conferences Under the direction of the Institute's Competition Law Forum, two major conferences are held by the Institute each year: the Transatlantic Antitrust Dialogue and the Annual Merger Conference. The proceedings are published by the Institute.

F A Mann Lecture Established 30 years ago, this series of annual lectures is held in honour of the late Dr F A Mann QC, one of the founders of the Institute. Each lecture is organised in conjunction with the partners of Herbert Smith.

Grotius Lecture This is another longstanding lecture series, a continuation of the work carried out by the Grotius Society - one of the forerunners of the Institute. Each year the Grotius lecture is delivered by a highly regarded member of the public international law community.

Investment Treaty Forum Public Conferences Each year the Investment Treaty Forum at the Institute holds two public conferences. These are unique in that they highlight specific subjects in this rapidly developing field and allow the most able speakers to give them in-depth treatment. The proceedings are published by the Institute.

London-Leiden Conference Ever since its founding the Institute has enjoyed a strong partnership with the University of Leiden. The institutions take turns each year to host this conference, currently in its 44th year, which addresses the most pertinent themes in European law and policy.

WTO Conference Held since 2001, the Institute's annual WTO conference is now established as the most important annual event for international scholarship and policy discussion in the field. The proceedings are published by the Institute.
